As part of helping build community assets through the inspirations of young people living everywhere, IGI organizes international voluntary youth work camps four times every year. The work camps create the opportunity for young people skilled and unskilled to contribute to improving the living standards in the deprived communities in Ghana.
There are variety of projects/programmes that available to be undertaken during the camping period; ranging from Agriculture, Reforestation, Sanitation, Education, Child Care and Tourism
1. Agriculture (Land clearing, seed planting, transplanting, irrigation, pruning, propagation, harvesting, storage, etc)
2. Reforestation (Planting of new trees, replacement of felled trees for environmental protection
3. Sanitation (Sweeping, cleaning, desilting,
4. Education (School building, renovation and painting, etc)
Child Care (Child care at orphanages and foster homes)
There shall be three (3) weeks of camping and one (1) week of tour around Ghana.
First Camp: January –February 2016- 02.02. - 28.02
Second Camp: May – June 2016 - 03.05. - 06.06.
Third Camp: July – September 2016 - 30.07. - 12.09.
Fourth Camp: November – December 2016 - 02.11. - 23.12.
LANGUAGES SPOKEN AT THE WORK-CAMPS
The official camp languages are; English, Deutsch, French.
The 3 week work camps are held usually in schools and other camping areas in the rural communities.
ITEMS TO BRING
The camps are to bring; road sack working boat, working gloves, working clothes, flashlight, mosquito net and other personal items.
The fees covering, airports pick/drop, orientation and feeding. 400 Euros.
